I am being really sincere here, this is what I really think. Guys like Tucker and Hannity and Don Lemon and Rachel are not real. They are a "Brand" if you will. A thing with what we used to call a "brand identity". That identity is exactly what is needed to achieve an end. So a pain reliever is a trusted friend that is there when you need him/her to get you thru a difficult time. MacDonald's is that fun relative that makes fun meals that are good for you. You get the idea. The think is that "Brand Kleenex" has developed as required to appeal to critical segments of the market. There is no "kleenex", there is only the illusion of "kleenex". Any hunk of thin paper will do.
Hannity and those other folks are not real. There is a person that plays "Hannity" who does not necessarily have anything in common with "Brand Hannity".
The is no "Joe Biden". Sure, there is a guy married to Jill and who is probably a nice guy but do not think that that is the guy we saw the other day.
What we saw was the crafting of a brand that is designed to appeal to a consumer segment. The real Joe Biden is a husk, sadly, so the professionals around him have a tabula rasa. We saw the writing. And, all things considered it was pretty good, given how bad it could have been.
Joe the person has been on stage for 50 years (note he was not called on his culpability for the state of the country given that his fingerprints are all over it) and he can read lines and take direction. That is what he did. Huzza!
