Great article, Lee. I think back on 2013 and I have my doubts about some of the reasons for our current shortage. That year we had the Post- Sandyhook and Obama led panic buying. Along with that the ammo companies were keeping up with demands from the military for two wars and huge DHS order. We barely experienced a hiccup in availability. Lastly, I don’t know any “new” or “first time” gun buyer who is buying a case of ammo with their purchase, especially when the ammo isn’t available anyway.
According to NSSF, there were 8.7 million new gun owners in 2020. If you figure they bought at least 2 boxes of ammo, that is 870,000,000 rounds. Not to mention the panic buying during 2020, it is going to take a bit of time to catch up.

Thanks again, Deb!
Keep some powder dry!
Am I the only one buying weapons and ammunition with the stimulus check?
