This retired Miami-Dade County Sgt wants to make certain that my former department is not confused with the City of Miami PD and their bonehead plan.

Just more of the same rules for thee not for me.

They know 100% they're in clear violation of Florida law but they're going to play ignorant which would never work for us because after all ignorance of the law is no excuse especially for us because we're looked at like peasants.

Thanks for the thorough followup. As with most gov. programs this is another vapid attempt to use emotion to achieve more worthless virtue signaling.

Hopefully there are intelligent legislators in Florida who will hold the MPD and the city to work in reality and follow the laws they wrote and enforce.

Probably not all of the lies. Just the ones USAToday can't make go away. How many other reporters lie to this degree?

I think there may be one area that 'could' provide a little added safety from this program.

If someone sold MPD a weapon that was unsafe, it might prevent that person from being injured.

Also, if MPD is buying back these weapons, were they ever licensed to sell them in the 1st place? What about the proper paperwork for those sales?

They didn't sell any weapons out of the evidence locker did they?

(nobody here needs this, but others may somehow come across my comment - it's sarcasm, folks)
