There was certainly probable cause for an arrest and, if the prosecutor couldn't get a conviction based on the evidence at the scene, he should resign and take up ambulance chasing.

This is the worst case of injustice I think I’ve ever read. Whether laziness, ineptitude or disregard for the victim, the sheriff and D.A. botched this so badly they should be held accountable. I cannot imagine the pain this family has endured. This never should have happened.
