Thing is that Lee has a Bully pulpit and it has to be used. You know, I talk to a lot of gun folks and a lot have their heads in the sand, like "I've seen this all before".
This is different. This is beyond gun control as a liberal talking point, it is quasi religious and a mechanism for control. There is no negotiation, failure means disarmament a la the UK.
Guys like Kurt Hoffman and Lee are the ones that have to be our megaphones.

One of the reasons I treasure Lee (and missed him to the point that I was checking obituaries when he disappeared) is that he's here in Florida. It's all well and good to fire notes off to D.C., but local is where we can do the most good.

The Sheriff seems like one heckuva good catch. I hope he's able enough to stand the politics that come with that job. Some people have loads of mettle.

Lee, what say you about HR127 - Looking at the numbers (House and Senate) - we lose if this goes to a vote and the trends stay intact (Dems vote in lock-step) and assume all the efforts (calls to politicians, protests, support to SAF and their commercials fail) what do we do? Will Sheriffs reinforces federal law, do we become sanctuary counties (there where you are but probably not here in Hillsborough Cty) Do we hide our SA Guns and Rifles, never go to a range for fear of arrest? Just be glad I have 3 revolvers? Project for me. Please.
The primary directive for politicians is retention of power. Many Congresspersons come from rural areas, even in Cali, where gun ownership is acceptable. I am not sure that the vote would be clear cut.
What we need, Lee, is a call to action every time something absurd like this happens. Links to the email of the editor, links to relevant Twitter entries and, above all, links to congress people in support of a 2A Sanctuary legislation.
A quick last point on this ... I note that the Democrats are cancelling their Thursday session because of "threats". I also note that it has been reported that they are going to try to push gun legislation over the next two weeks.
This stuff is as choreographed as a Russian Ballet (I made a joke). There is no time. We have to get our legislature to make clear that Florida will not cooperate with the Feds. It is that level of pressure that will signify that they might loose their power if they continue.

Since HR127 is not a budget issue then the Senate has to pass it by a 2/3 majority, is how I understand it. I pray this is the case.
