While I am sure it is hard to solve a murder /suicide(?) without any motive much less a suspect. But sitting here reading this I was trying to figure out how I could shoot myself in the backside of my head with a shotgun and also concluded I could not do it. Any shotgun at that close range, even a 410, would have made devasting damage.
My summation is also that Mr. Mullins probably happened upon some drug deal, or some other illicit activity.
It doesn't seem like it's been 10 years already. I remember this event because it sounded so odd at the time. I believed someone at the S.O. would set things straight before they signed off on it.
What a let-down.
The family must be tired and angry after so long with such disappointment.

That's exactly it, Ken. There's no way he could have positioned a weapon to shoot himself like that. Also, he never owned a shotgun!!!

The family never gave up, which should serve as a lesson to us all. They're handling the anger well by focusing it on getting the truth out.
