As soon as I saw "San Luis Obispo, California" I was thinking the same thing: how many gunshot victims do they have in any given year? Your reference to the demographic make-up of the city confirmed what I assumed and also exposes that he is lying about the number of gunshot victims he has treated. According to Wikipedia, in 2000 the median family income in the city was $112,740. Any place that is 85% White with a six figure median family income is not going to be a hotbed of gun violence.

The 'good' doctor can't read his own writing. He claims in all his work in the ER he's never treated anyone shot by a law-abiding gun owner in self-defense, or self-protection as he says.

That statistic just goes to prove that law abiding gun owners DON'T SHOOT PEOPLE.

Criminals do shoot people, and a person's past actions DO indicate character flaws that are likely to be repeated. They shouldn't be returned to the streets soon after being apprehended for a crime - as the LA DA Gascon is now famous for doing. That's know as positive reinforcement - a REALLY BAD IDEA on how to reinforce criminal behavior. Basically OJT for a career in crime, sponsored by the LA DA, paid for by the taxpayers/victims.

He IS right about one thing, though. Nobody should put a gun in a box under a Christmas tree, even if that 'box' happens to be a gun safe. Because of the Left's destruction of society in California, the likelihood that the presents under that tree would be stolen is higher than most places. Personalized gift certificates for guns and training would be a great idea, though.
