Gannett killed my old website, its archive and eight years of gun-related content
Here's how you can let them know what you think of their decision.

Gannett just killed my old website: TheGunWriter.com and its entire archive.
Gone are eight years worth of stories, photos, videos and other gun-related content.
For a media company that claims it values local journalism, this is unconscionable.
They didn’t even let me know — no emails or phone calls. They just took it down.
To be clear, they can’t touch my new website — thegunwriter.substack.com — but the loss of eight years worth of hard work is difficult to accept, especially since there were folks featured in the stories who are no longer with us.
Also, and for me this is the worst, there were a lot of stories and profiles of veterans. I never knew Gannett had such disdain for this country’s veterans.
The decision was made by Maribel Perez Wadsworth, President of the USA TODAY Network and Publisher of USA TODAY at Gannett.

As always, thanks for your time.

Always.... ALWAYS.... keep a personal back-up AND an off-site back-up of all your work, data, records, etc.
NEVER be dependent on the assumed good-will of others, be they family, friends co-workers or employers.
Done and here is what I said "Are you proud of yourself, because you sure shouldn't be! Do you honestly feel you have made this a better, more sane world? Because you haven't! I know you're just jumping on the "guns are bad" bandwagon because it is a cool thing now. I am a veteran of the Vietnam war and your inane actions cause me to wonder why I risked my life for herd follower like you. You're alive because I carried a gun and did what my country asked me to do. And now you spit on me, and the 55 thousand plus that didn't make it home. I hope you're very proud, but know in my world you're not an American. Come try and cancel me!
