My goodness, after reading Mr. Williams' article that Mr. Wilson violated a bunch of arcane, esoteric laws, it left me thinking that we've got more gun laws than my yard has weeds, and I have a lot of weeds.

This is a travesty of American jurisprudence. ATF has got to find a new gig and leave hard working taxpayers alone.

--- July 1993

"How long are the American people going to put up with this sort of thing? It is popular at this time to compare the behavior our uncontrolled Federal agents to that of the Nazis in the Third Reich. It may be that this is a valid comparison, but the Nazis are long ago and far away, whereas the ninja in the U.S. are right now in full-cry and apparently without fear of any sort of control. The move mainly at night. They conceal their faces. They use overwhelming firepower and the make almost no effort to identify their targets. They are scarier than the Nazis -- who at least never concealed their faces."

--- June 1994

"A document secretly delivered to me reveals frightening evidence that the full-scale war to crush your gun rights has not only begun, but is well underway.

"What's more, dozens of Federal gun ban bills suggest this final assault has begun -- not just to ban all handguns or all semi-automatics, but to eliminate private firearms ownership completely and forever. I firmly believe the N.R.A. has no alternative but to recognize this attack and counter with every resource we can muster."

--- April 1995

"The semi-auto ban gives jack-booted government thugs more power to take away our Constitutional rights, break in our doors, seize our guns, destroy our property and even injure or kill us."

"In Clinton's Administration, if you have a badge, you have the Government's go-ahead to harass, intimidate, even murder law-abiding citizens.

"Randy Weaver at Ruby Ridge, Waco and the Branch Davidians. Not too long ago it was unthinkable for Federal agents wearing Nazi bucket helmets and black storm trooper uniforms to attack law-abiding citizens. Not today. Not with Clinton."

"You can see it when jack-booted government thugs, wearing black, armed to the teeth, break down a door, open fire with an automatic weapon and kill or main law-abiding citizens."

"And if we lose the right to keep and bear arms, then the right to free speech, free practice of religion and every other freedom in the Bill of Rights are soon to follow."

Wayne R. LaPierre Jr.

Executive vice president of the National Rifle Association

Under Biden, the ATF has AGAIN become a bunch of "jack-booted thugs".

Or maybe it just never stopped.

The sooner it is dismantled, the better.

It should serve as a warning but don't count on it.

Agreed. Abolishing the ATF would be a better "warning."

I hope it is an actual 'strong warning' that carries weight. But, being the experienced pessimist that I am when it comes to trusting any Obama appointee or the ATF, I translated the judge's statement as follows, "yes, it seems a bit harsh and unwarranted in this case so hold out your hand so I can slap it and warn you that if you do this type of thing again, I'll use the ruler next time, twice."

.

Ok I'm going back to my Columbian coffee and Davidoff cigar. Thanks Lee, always look forward to your work on our behalf.

Unfortunately, Mr. Wilson did not use the services of an FFL in Florida to transfer ownership to his stepdaughter. While I agree with other posters that these rules are at least arbitrary, they are the rules we have to follow right now. When the ATF breaks the rules (such as the photocopying of 4473's at FFLs (reported last year)), they can choose to not even respond to the allegations. Jackbooted thugary if you ask me and the ATF needs to use FFLs as allies, not as enemies.

It’ll stop when there are consequences. Tarring and feathering seems like a good place to start.
