"Currently, 24 states allow law-abiding residents to carry concealed firearms without government fees or permits."

Or, more accurately, 24 states don't infringe upon the rights of their citizens.

BINGO.

I am not surprised, probably due to the backlash at end of Session. Myself included sent a few Unhappy E-mails of disappointment at not accomplishing Constitutional carry previously, We say We are such a Red State, those States already made themselves 2nd Amendment Sanctuaries. Just sayin, Thanks Lee!

Wow, that's promising. Good luck, Florida Men (and Women).

Lee, hope you pursue my question. I fear our problems with the NRA and USF/Hammer are worse than I thought. We have the governor officially callkng for constitutional carry and no email blast from the NRA to its members? What is going on? Do we have any idea how difficult getting this passed in Florida will be if we lose a strongly pro gun governor like DeSantis?

GOA is on top of it - they sent me a notice a week of so ago to ask DeSantis to call a special session; I imagine they will do another email blast to follow up.

PLUS - no one is stopping gun owners from taking the initiative to start sending emails to whoever needs to get off their ass and get the bill to DeSantis to sign into law!

Tex, NRA used to send email updates constantly during the sessions. It’s the the third year in a row now and crickets

Don't forget that Disney and Publix are VERY vocal opponents of CC, and they have very deep pockets and very active lobbyists.

I'm an NRA Life Member due to a big discounted life membership push on arfcom years back, but if I was still on an annual plan, I'd just walk away. I'm getting the impression that they don't want to get in the trenches here with us in FL.

Yep. The only emails I got from them for the past two years were to beg for money.

Same with Florida Carry. Not really a word from them. GOA have been kicking ads this year with their rallies, petitions, and email alerts. So has NAGR. Florida Carry has been absent on the ground.

Yeah are they even around anymore? I’m a life member but ever since they got the fl supreme court to formally announce that the right to bear arms is a privilege here there wasn’t much heard. I seem to remember their counsel going after FDLE abuse on background checks right after SB 276 was passed.

Ask Lee Williams why they aren't at the Capitol. He is their Communications Director and a member of their Board of Directors. But he isn't even in Florida. Heard he lived in Washington State.

I live in Sarasota, Luis, not Washington State.

Just sent the Governor an email thanking him for the special session and appealing to him to help FL regain its leadership as a gun friendly state.

This would be great if we can get our own Rinos to pass it. Chris Sprowls hasn’t been willing to work on this. Keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe since DeSantis has made the special session public, they will get it done. Even Rinos hate bad press.
