Rob Pincus: Secret Agent for the Facebook Police
The embattled anti-gunner has weaponized his social media to silence his critics.
In terms of the offenses Rob Pincus has committed against the gun community over the past few weeks, the strange and twisted tale I’m about to share probably wouldn’t make the Top 10 list in terms of severity or lasting impact.
However, after mulling it over for the past few days, I decided it was important to share for a couple reasons.
First, it might save one of you from serving a stretch in Facebook jail.
And second, members of the gun community — even those on the outs — should never treat each other like this.
It’s no secret that Rob has been under the gun lately — pardon the pun.
Ever since he co-authored an open letter with a former Brady Bunch president calling for expanded background checks and more gun control, his world has started crumbling.
The entire gun community is rallying against him, so Rob has started lashing out at his critics.
I get it.
I’ve seen it before when someone’s ego won’t let them accept that what they’ve done is wrong. Rather than issuing a mea culpa and a sincere apology, they think everyone else is wrong, and that they’re the only person in the world who’s right.
Sad, that.
The other night, I watched a back-and-forth on Facebook between Rob and an official from Florida Carry.
For those of you who haven’t heard of Florida Carry, it’s one of the best led and most active pro-gun groups in the country. It should serve as a model for gun groups in all 50 states.
Rob got nasty and personal in his Facebook posts — he baited the official in — at which point our victim responded, referring to Rob as a “little bitch.”
That was all it took.
Rob immediately tipped off the Facebook Police, who quickly slapped a three-day suspension on the official for violating Facebook’s community standards on harassment and bullying.
I’ve never seen anything like it.
It was quick — like it was planned well in advance.
Takeaways
No one can predict what will happen to Rob in the long term. The outrage he created in the gun community shows no signs of letting up.
I bear him no ill will, and I hope he comes to his senses soon, before all is lost.
However, if he keeps acting like this — childish and petty — he’ll get no sympathy from me, especially if he continues de-platforming other pro-gun advocates.
In fact, given his current misbehavior, if he’s looking for sympathy he can find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis.
As always, thanks for your time.

There are a number of people that have bit the hand.
Florida Gun Shows (Shoot Straight), has decided to ban private gun sales at all their shows. Calls were made to vendors (8/16/19) telling them that only licensed gun dealers will be able to buy guns from patrons and sell guns at their shows. That means background check, waiting period if you don't have a carry permit, paperwork and inflated costs. It also means selling to licensed dealers who are looking for a markup so the price you get will be reduced.
I will not guess at the reason for this though if it is not profit driven I'd be shocked. A guy named Kahlid is the owner and decision maker. This is certainly his right but it is an unacceptable assault on our ability to buy and sell and, thus, shows his disdain for the Second Amendment and for Florida gun owners (who have made him a wealthy man, BTW). Also, when you go to these shows it will be like going to a gun store rather than a true marketplace.
We should avoid all shows put on by Florida Gun Shows and boycott their brick and mortar stores which do business as Shoot Straight.
Patronize Patriot Productions, 2 Guys Shows and the other promoters in Florida that show a bit of concern for the gun owning and buying public.
They will say, if you call, that they are observing local ordinances. Not true. Even where there is a local ordinance, there is an exception for a Concealed Carry license holder.
This isn't a commentary on the benefit of having universal background checks or having all sales go thru FFL holders, it is about a company going the law one better in the name of profit. We gun owners have enough problems without being blindsided by an entity that is supposed to be on our side.
As with Rob Pincus, at this juncture we should not forgive or forget people that sell us out.
he can go hang out with jim zumbo now
