The "profit" angle is ridiculous. I've had to sell a gun here and there during hard times, almost always getting more than I paid for it. Is that profit? I was SHOCKED to find that the Colt Python I bought for $300 back in the 80's is now worth several thousand, but is that truly a profit? I've had the gun 40+ years. If I had invested that $300 forty years ago, how much would it be worth today? I've always viewed firearms as a type of investment, since I could usually sell them for quick cash whenever I needed. The ATF needs to be disbanded. Also, I'm going assume any firearms seized will never be returned. Certain people will cherry pick the good pieces and the rest will be ceremonially destroyed for propaganda purposes.
